In a large-scale drug bust Thursday night, Fresno Police seized more than 10 pounds of meth worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Los Angeles-area man.
The bust began around 6:30 p.m. during a traffic stop near Ventura and F street in downtown Fresno where a confidential informant tipped them off Francisco Gonzalez, 23, was going to be in town selling drugs, says Sgt. Tim Tietjen with the Fresno Police Department.
He was found with five kilos, or 11 pounds of meth, worth anywhere between $500,000 to $700,000.
A K-9 officer alerted officers to the drugs in the trunk of the Gonzalez's car, and narcotics detectives say the drugs came in from Mexico.
