Two men were arrested after harassing customers at 11 different businesses at the River Park shopping center in Fresno on Wednesday.
Officials say the Fresno Police Department began receiving calls stating two males dressed as “ICE Agents” were harassing customers at different businesses. The callers stated that the two men were impersonating Federal immigration officials and were filming their confrontations with community members.
Officers found the two men outside of a business in the River Park shopping center. When officers contacted them, officials say both were found to be wearing black tactical vests.
The vests had patches that they purposely partially covered but made to look like the words “Police” and “ICE”.
Police say it was determined that both men had gone to various businesses, acting as though they were officers, and filming their confrontations with the public to upload onto their social media.
At one location, officials say they told employees they were conducting an investigation and
needed to see business documents.
